Religion is the belief in someone else’s experience.
Spirituality is having your own experience.
What does crystal healing have to do with spirituality?
Since all healing modalities are energy based, it is safe to say that energy IS spirit and spirit IS energy. Even though we are working with subtle energy, it is still energy.
Let’s look at the definitions of “energy” and “spirit”
the capacity for vigorous activity; available power: I eat chocolate to get quick energy. an adequate or abundant amount of such power: I seem to have no energy these days. Often energies. a feeling of tension caused or seeming to be caused by an excess of such power: to work off one’s energies at tennis. an exertion of such power: She plays tennis with great energy.the habit of vigorous activity; vigor as a characteristic: Foreigners both admire and laugh at American energy. the ability to act, lead others, effect, etc., forcefully.
the principle of conscious life; the vital principle in humans, animating the body or mediating between body and soul.the incorporeal part of humans: present in spirit though absent in body.
to animate with fresh ardor or courage; inspirit. to encourage; urge on or stir up, as to action.
So if you look at the definitions for both, you can see similarities. People use these words interchangeably.
So with crystal healing, we are working with the energy or spirit of the crystal to assist in your healing.
In Trans Crystal Therapy, we are pointing Quartz crystals on different points of the body to run energy throughout – clearing out the old and replenishing it with the new.
May you discover your true self through exploring spirituality.
It has been a while since I’ve posted a blog but I felt the need to share this particular 4 card Tarot spread because it’s relevant.
1st card: X of Swords
2nd card: XI Justice
3rd card: XVII The Star
4th card: X of Cups
The message of these 4 cards is:
You can live AND experience multiple worlds simultaneously.
In 10 of Swords, I see this card representing the mental body and social media currently – a place where we literally get our news and information from, especially regarding BLM (Black Lives Matter) and the many injustices Black people face on a regular basis.
We get bombarded with information ALL the time. Who else died today, who’s next, how much more sadness, anger and heartbreak can we take on?
Maybe on a personal level, you have felt stabbed by people or certain situations; you’ve ‘killed’ yourself for the sake of others’ comfort and in a way disrespecting yourself and you’re about ready to move on.
The microcosm and macrocosm are in a constant state of reflection. As above, so below.
Luckily, in the 10 of Cups – we have somewhere to go to – outside when things become too much. Or just hanging with your friends and family from a safe distance is a nice reprieve from it all.
In Justice – well this is definitely a BIG, ongoing mood, right? We are fighting for justice for BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) – physically or digitally with what we can – protests, donations, reposting stuff on social media.
In our personal lives, we are fighting for the right to be ourselves and to no longer hold on to what society thinks we should be doing. COVID-19 has shown us that we can still exist without working ourselves to death. People are using this time to spend it with their families and maybe even re-imagining a different life for themselves.
Life is overwhelming, especially in the physical realm. Once we start to feel fatigued we can go within ourselves and replenish our spirit with The Star. The Star is a symbol of hope, freedom, intuition, self care…basically paying attention to your own needs.
Altogether I see these 4 cards as a perfect spread for the current times we are living in.
I hope you are all feeling good, adjusting to a different routine, taking good care of yourselves and doing whatever feels good to you.
I don’t know when I will be taking in person crystal healing sessions again, I’m just feeling it out. I will definitely let you know.
I am available for Tarot readings and distance healings.
I’ve been inspired by The Nap Ministry’s Instagram page lately. It’s an Instagram page dedicated to Black liberation through rest, naps, sleep, dreaming and seeing those acts as reparations and resistance. In the capitalist-patriarchal world we live in, we work and do too much; we must rest just as hard as we work.
2020 has been a difficult time and I wish I could say something profound but I don’t.
So I’m just going to leave you with these words of wisdom from The Nap Bishop:
Rest today. Find 5 minutes of silence to daydream. Put something soft next to your skin. Drink so much water. Take a nap. Don’t explain why we are uprising. They know. The grief and terror of white supremacy is rough on our hearts and bodies. Please rest.
Everything is different now that we’ve experienced 2 months of Covid-19. Depending on your situation, life is either easy or tough and so I wanted to write this for those who want to go within.
If you miss the in person healing sessions, this is the technique I use for DIY – do it yourself crystal healings that you can do on yourself.
What you will need:
+ A comfortable space to lie down where you will not be disturbed, maybe a cover in case it’s cold. I like to use my padded yoga mat. + A pillow to rest your head + Your crystals & stones + The meditation app Insight Timer
Why would you even want to do this? There are all kinds of reasons why you would do a crystal healing on yourself but off the top of my head here are a few:
+ You want to heal yourself. Ok, but what are we healing from? Lots of things, but that’s another topic in itself and I will write about that next time. + You are feeling stressed or anxious and are looking for some relief. + You are feeling bored, uninspired and need a temporary escape from daily life. + You want to meet your metaphysical or spiritual guides.
My main reason for doing these sessions on myself is that I want to boost my creativity and imagination. Creativity and imagination is very important to me as I am an artist, designer and marketer – I am constantly generating ideas for content at work and for my own small business.
Step 1: Gather you crystals and stones
You don’t have to have a lot of crystals for your meditation, always work with what you have. If you have a Quartz crystal, you can program it.
If you are familiar with the Chakra system, then gather 7 crystals or stones to place on each chakra for a Chakra Healing or Chakra Balancing session. In the photo above I used:
1 Root Chakra: Smoky Quartz 2 & 3 Sacral & Solar Plexus Chakra: Natural Citrine (which I held in my right hand) 4 Heart Chakra: Green Aventurine and Aura Rose Quartz (I put the Aura Rose Quartz on my heart, while I held the Green Aventurine in my left hand) 5 Throat Chakra: Blue Kyanite 6 Third Eye Chakra: Optical Calcite 7 Crown Chakra: Lemurian Quartz
Step 2: Lie down and start putting crystals on yourself
If you only have 2 crystals, you can put one in each hand. If you have a small Amethyst that can sit on your third eye, put it on your forehead. If you have 7 crystals or stones, start from the first chakra and work your way up. Don’t forget to have your phone close by so you don’t have to get up anymore.
Step 3: Go to Insight Timer app on your phone
You can set a timer on Insight Timer for 10-15 minutes, a bell will go off every few minutes or so depending on how you set it up. But if you want to have a metaphysical experience, I want to suggest you pick a meditation that you like on there.
For my meditation, I chose Jerred and Natalie’s Crystal Singing Bowl Meditation for Shamanic Journeying. It’s 21 minutes long, but once you’re deep in meditation it feels a lot longer.
Step 4: Say a prayer or an invocation
It’s hard to imagine that you are actually traveling when you meditate. Yes, your body may be there – but your spirit may start to wander off, as if you’re day dreaming or even dreaming while asleep, except you’re not asleep.
In any case you want to say a little prayer asking for protection from inner and outer harm. You can also do an invocation. Or you can just say: I ask my higher self and my guides to take me where I need to go, thank you.
Step 5: Begin your meditation by focusing on your breathing.
Start your Insight timer. Depending on how experienced you are in meditating – it takes about 5-10 minutes to get settled in, meaning that for the first few minutes your mind will be “on”. Lots of thoughts running around in circles, maybe you’re not quite comfortable yet or maybe you feel overwhelmed by the amount of crystal energy on your body. Observe and accept what is happening and feel free to remove some crystals and continue.
Step 6: Once the meditation is over, remove the crystals from your body.
Congratulations, you did it! Don’t get up right away, as your consciousness just traveled to a metaphysical place. Take your crystals off one by one, starting from the top. Wiggle your hands and toes, blink your eyes and get reacquainted with your body and the room you’re in. Whenever you’re ready, get up and drink some water.
Step 7: Record your experience
Did something happen while you were in meditation, did you see something or someone? How did you feel? Write it down or draw it.
I hope you had a great experience doing the DIY crystal healing session on yourself.
My friend Mandy and I have been meeting up in person in the valley (San Fernando Valley in SoCal, haha) for over 2 years now just learning and interpreting the Tarot. It’s a personal practice that’s evolved over time and so for 2020, we did something different – we started recording an audio summary via my iPhone. Then I would send the audio to my Gmail, download the file and start editing it in Adobe Premiere – adding text and images of Tarot cards. It’s been fun.
So in this video, you are hearing Mandy doing most of the talking, while I read the questions. We are working with the Many Moons 2020 Lunar Planner which I highly recommend getting if you’re witchy and also the Deviant Moon deck.
Are we witches? Although we’ve had a difficult time admitting it, the short answer is yes.
Before Mandy and I came out of the closet and started calling ourselves ‘witches’ – we worked together many years ago in the home entertainment industry. At the time, I was a production artist while Mandy was a creative director. Long story short, we’ve kept in touch over the years and really got into this metaphysical stuff in 2012. Our paths were separate yet here we are many years later.
A little bit about us: Mandy Gough is an herbalist, formulator and designer. She has her own shop where she handcrafts organic products for real people in skin care, wellness and home. Check her out at XOM3 Botanical Solutions.
Pia San Jose is an artist/designer, crystal healer, Reiki & Tarot practitioner. This is my website for my Crystal Healing, Reiki and Tarot practice.
If you are a Star Wars nerd but also an energy healer, then you will come to understand that it has many references to metaphysical and spiritual subjects; such as spirit beings and universal life force energy, aka the Force.
And if I had to explain what Reiki is, then I would probably suggest that you see Star Wars.
I’d like to think of Master Yoda as an ascended master as well as a pop culture magick icon. In magic and metaphysics, anything or anyone you think is inspiring, powerful and has personal meaning for you can be considered a deity or a talisman that can protect you. Someone that you can call upon when you’re feeling down and out.
Into my journey as a Reiki practitioner, I immediately felt a connection to Master Yoda as he is patient, wise, powerful and deeply connected to the Force.
A character that was created out of thought and imagination is a thought form, which means it exists.
For example, whenever I’m feeling small and insignificant in this world I like to think of the scene where Master Yoda is saying what he said to Luke on Dagobah when Luke was getting frustrated with his training in The Empire Strikes Back:
Size matters not. Look at me. Judge me by my size, do you? Hmm? Hmm. And well you should not. For my ally is the Force, and a powerful ally it is. Life creates it, makes it grow. Its energy surrounds us and binds us. Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter. You must feel the Force around you; here, between you, me, the tree, the rock, everywhere, yes. Even between the land and the ship.
– Master Yoda
So what can you do with your pop culture magickal guide? Call upon this being whenever you feel you need protection from harmful energies. It’s better to connect with a character that you like, can relate to and think about often than your typical spirit guide or ascended master who you have no connection with at all. Try it out and pay attention to the results!

You probably hear the terms “energy healing” and “energy work” often, as both terms tend to blend into one another. The question is, are they the same? If not, then what is the difference?
This is just my own interpretation of the differences between Energy Healing and Energy Work so bare with me as I attempt to explain.
Energy Healing is the process of healing your energy or those who come to you through the use of a variety of different energetic or alternative medicine methods.
Still sounds vague. But what does that mean exactly?
It means you are actively working on healing yourself by getting to know which of your chakras are open or blocked. The chakras are wheels of subtle energy that generate the electromagnetic field around our body that is more commonly known as our aura or energy body. If one of your chakras is blocked, you will have difficulty with certain issues with your life. For example, if your 5th chakra is blocked or spinning very low or not at all – you will have difficulty speaking clearly and expressing your wants and needs, as the 5th chakra is associated with the throat. Whether this is done through seeing an energy worker, healer or practitioner or even doing it on your own is based on your personal preference / experience.
Examples of energy healing could involve going for a Reiki or Crystal Healing session.
Energy Work is the process of working with energy and intention to achieve certain results. Again, it can be done by yourself or by going to an energy worker, healer or practitioner.
But again, what does that mean?
When we work with energy, we are working with the unseen forces of nature to create or achieve a certain outcome or result. In most energy workings, the goal is to achieve balance, inner peace and harmony within the self’s inner and outer world.
To put it simply: our thoughts create our reality.
In order to achieve this, you or the energy worker must be trained or experienced in doing meditation, visualization and breathing techniques on a regular basis to bring your subtle bodies – your physical, emotional, mental and spiritual bodies – back into balance. In doing so, your body, mind and soul/spirit are whole again.
Examples of energy work could involve you meditating, balancing your chakras, repeating mantras or affirmations, lighting a candle for a specific outcome or even writing your thoughts in a journal.
Some say Energy Work is similar to Manifestation and I can see why; both processes involves working with energy and intention.
Energy Healing and Energy Work are terms that are used frequently in the wellness and healing industries. Although they may sound very similar, there are some subtle differences:
Energy Healing is using energy or alternative medicine methods to heal yourself or others.
Energy Work is the process of creating the energy you want around a certain outcome. For example: wanting health, inner peace and healing for yourself.
I’ve asked this question many times. In fact, it’s a question I tend to ask the most when shuffling tarot cards or an oracle deck.
There were times when I’ve asked that question and received a different answer. The answer I got was: you are here to love.
But for some reason, I just wasn’t satisfied with that answer. LOL, do you see why humans are insane sometimes? It’s like we want a really complicated answer, something that our mind and ego can digest and be satisfied with.
Humans really are complex beings. We tend to get obsessive and ask the same question over and over again, to the point where we drive ourselves crazy. I know this because, I am exactly that way. And for this reason, we block ourselves from receiving divine or spiritual guidance; it’s as if you don’t have faith in the universe, you don’t trust the message that is being delivered.
Spiritual guidance is simple, loving and direct. It is also very subtle and easy to miss. This is probably why our egos get frustrated.
Which is why it’s important to learn how to get quiet and find the answer within. Communicate with your guides or inner being; it might seem like they are something else that is outside of you, but they are the higher, more evolved version of you. Learn to meditate if you are serious about discovering your purpose. Then you will know.
My friend Mandy & I have our moon meetups in the San Fernando Valley, either at her house or mine every new and full moon. Overtime, she has a spirit guide that joins us and channels messages through her. The guide told me to stop asking what my purpose is and to start creating.
So I have resolved to stop asking. Instead, I just follow whatever it is I’m into. I’ve come to the conclusion that I probably won’t ever know what my purpose is or if I even have a mission.
If you make an appointment with me and you change your mind about showing up, I would greatly appreciate it if you would communicate with me. Reply to my email, I promise I won’t get upset with you. If anything I will respect and appreciate you more than anything. It means that you respect my time. It also indicates you are a responsible and considerate person. It sucks when people don’t tell you that they’re not going to show up for their appointment. How would you feel if someone did that to you?
If you know me, then you also know that I am a nerd when it comes to visuals and graphic design – it’s what I do for a living when I’m not doing Reiki / crystal healing on the weekends.
I was talking to someone and they mentioned that they do pranic healing. Of course I was curious so I Googled it and discovered a (new to me) teacher by the name of Master Choa Kok Sui. I believe finding his work was not a coincidence; I am looking at his photo and I feel as if he is smiling at me. I have found a new teacher and guide. And now my goal is to collect and read all his books. It also delights me to know he was of Filipino-Chinese descent – I am also Filipino.
I copied and pasted this from my Google search:
Master Choa Kok Sui is the founder of Pranic Healing and Arhatic Yoga. He has established healing centers in 45 countries and is constantly traveling amongst the different ones giving workshops and seminars. He is also a chemical engineer and a highly successful businessman in the Philippines. Google Books
Born: August 15, 1952, Cebu, Philippines Died: March 19, 2007, Quezon City, Philippines
So there you have it. I just wanted to save this book cover because it was eye catching and has a vintage feel to it. And of course I love rainbows and all things healing.😊
To my surprise, Master Choa Kok Sui had also written a book on Pranic Crystal Healing; here is the book cover.
From what I gather so far, pranic healing sounds similar to Reiki except it is a no-touch healing technique. I can’t wait to order his books and read them all.
