Let’s face it, humans are not stable beings.
It also doesn’t help that we are constantly exposed to ALL sorts of energies – computers, mobile phones, smog, imbalanced, unconscious people who tend to project themselves unto us, our own wounds, etc. that it’s sometimes difficult to discover who we really are.
So yes, healing yourself is definitely important and should take priority. And it’s not a one time thing either, your healing could take a lifetime or more…
There are going to be times when you think you’re completely healed and then boom…someone or something triggers you. This happens to all of us.
That’s why I think it’s important to visit a healer or learn how to heal yourself on a regular basis, as we live in a dynamic and constantly changing world – we must learn how to be balanced beings in order to grow, evolve, ascend as well as assist other humans in the best way possible.
So how do we heal ourselves exactly?
There is no official list of instructions or a ‘how-to’ on self healing. Everybody is unique so of course, every person’s healing process will be different.
Here are a few suggestions on how to heal:
1. Get to know yourself.
“Know thyself, the unexamined life is not worth living.” – Aeschylus/Socrates/Plato
One of the ways to begin healing is to really get to know yourself. Spend time alone, write your thoughts down in a journal, ask yourself questions. Ask yourself, ‘why did I react that way’?
You don’t have to be mean to yourself when asking questions. Just be kind, as if you were talking to a friend.
2. Listen to your body.
Our physical bodies are quite amazing if you think about it; if you cut yourself your cells start working fast to heal your skin.
Your body will tell you if you need something, how easy is that? Tune in to your body. If you’re tired, rest. If you’re hungry, eat. If you feel irritated by people, then go outside and take a breath.
3. Self care is a form of healing.
Self care is a popular term these days. And while it seems that everybody’s into it, how many of us actually do it? How many of us unplug from social media, our phones or people who tend to put us in a shitty mood?
How many of us actually spend time doing absolutely nothing?
One of the easiest ways to do some self care is to pay attention to how you feel about something or someone.
If it doesn’t make you feel good, it’s probably not good for you. Don’t do things out of obligation, do things because you want to.
Self healing is possible; if our physical bodies have the ability to heal from being sick or getting a cut, then our mental, emotional and spiritual bodies can also do the same.
