Everything is different now that we’ve experienced 2 months of Covid-19. Depending on your situation, life is either easy or tough and so I wanted to write this for those who want to go within.
If you miss the in person healing sessions, this is the technique I use for DIY – do it yourself crystal healings that you can do on yourself.
What you will need:
+ A comfortable space to lie down where you will not be disturbed, maybe a cover in case it’s cold. I like to use my padded yoga mat.
+ A pillow to rest your head
+ Your crystals & stones
+ The meditation app Insight Timer
Why would you even want to do this? There are all kinds of reasons why you would do a crystal healing on yourself but off the top of my head here are a few:
+ You want to heal yourself. Ok, but what are we healing from? Lots of things, but that’s another topic in itself and I will write about that next time.
+ You are feeling stressed or anxious and are looking for some relief.
+ You are feeling bored, uninspired and need a temporary escape from daily life.
+ You want to meet your metaphysical or spiritual guides.
My main reason for doing these sessions on myself is that I want to boost my creativity and imagination. Creativity and imagination is very important to me as I am an artist, designer and marketer – I am constantly generating ideas for content at work and for my own small business.
Step 1: Gather you crystals and stones
You don’t have to have a lot of crystals for your meditation, always work with what you have. If you have a Quartz crystal, you can program it.
If you are familiar with the Chakra system, then gather 7 crystals or stones to place on each chakra for a Chakra Healing or Chakra Balancing session. In the photo above I used:
1 Root Chakra: Smoky Quartz
2 & 3 Sacral & Solar Plexus Chakra: Natural Citrine (which I held in my right hand)
4 Heart Chakra: Green Aventurine and Aura Rose Quartz (I put the Aura Rose Quartz on my heart, while I held the Green Aventurine in my left hand)
5 Throat Chakra: Blue Kyanite
6 Third Eye Chakra: Optical Calcite
7 Crown Chakra: Lemurian Quartz
Step 2: Lie down and start putting crystals on yourself
If you only have 2 crystals, you can put one in each hand. If you have a small Amethyst that can sit on your third eye, put it on your forehead. If you have 7 crystals or stones, start from the first chakra and work your way up. Don’t forget to have your phone close by so you don’t have to get up anymore.
Step 3: Go to Insight Timer app on your phone
You can set a timer on Insight Timer for 10-15 minutes, a bell will go off every few minutes or so depending on how you set it up. But if you want to have a metaphysical experience, I want to suggest you pick a meditation that you like on there.
For my meditation, I chose Jerred and Natalie’s Crystal Singing Bowl Meditation for Shamanic Journeying. It’s 21 minutes long, but once you’re deep in meditation it feels a lot longer.
Step 4: Say a prayer or an invocation
It’s hard to imagine that you are actually traveling when you meditate. Yes, your body may be there – but your spirit may start to wander off, as if you’re day dreaming or even dreaming while asleep, except you’re not asleep.
In any case you want to say a little prayer asking for protection from inner and outer harm. You can also do an invocation. Or you can just say: I ask my higher self and my guides to take me where I need to go, thank you.
Step 5: Begin your meditation by focusing on your breathing.
Start your Insight timer. Depending on how experienced you are in meditating – it takes about 5-10 minutes to get settled in, meaning that for the first few minutes your mind will be “on”. Lots of thoughts running around in circles, maybe you’re not quite comfortable yet or maybe you feel overwhelmed by the amount of crystal energy on your body. Observe and accept what is happening and feel free to remove some crystals and continue.
Step 6: Once the meditation is over, remove the crystals from your body.
Congratulations, you did it! Don’t get up right away, as your consciousness just traveled to a metaphysical place. Take your crystals off one by one, starting from the top. Wiggle your hands and toes, blink your eyes and get reacquainted with your body and the room you’re in. Whenever you’re ready, get up and drink some water.
Step 7: Record your experience
Did something happen while you were in meditation, did you see something or someone? How did you feel? Write it down or draw it.
